We work together to continually develop and implement sustainable solutions. Through Green Thread, our environmental sustainability platform, we bring innovative and efficient solutions to life. We are passionately focused on reducing the environmental impact within our operations.

Here are just a few ways we work to make our campus more environmentally conscious:

Local Purchasing

check
Did you know Agnes Scott Dining partners with The Common Market to source food from many local farmers and growers? The list of products changes throughout the year depending on seasonality and availability.

Recycling

check
Agnes Scott Dining recycles from all dining locations across campus. We are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint. Look for signs in our locations for information on where to put your recyclables.

Trayless Dining

check
Did you know Agnes Scott Dining has been trayless since 2010? By dining trayless, you have helped positively impact the waste stream. Dining trayless minimizes food waste, conserves energy and water, and reduces the amount of cleaning chemicals entering the waste stream.

Fryer Oil Recycling

check
One hundred percent of Agnes Scott Dining's used fryer oil is recycled and converted into bio-diesel.

Composting

Zero waste is the goal of Agnes Scott Dining. We sort through the waste in Evans Dining Hall and compost it using a local composting company.

Reusable Beverage Program

In Mollie’s Grille and Black Cat Café we offer a discount for those who bring their own reusable cup.

Daylighting

On nice, sunny days, Evans Dining Hall turns off the lights to conserve energy.
